The EE21 is a Non-Burning, Low Temperature Waste Management System using the Pyrolysis Principle (The thermochemical decomposition of organic materials in the absence of Oxygen). Today’s current population stands at an estimated 7 Billion and by 2050 its expected to increase to 9 Billion, therefore more waste generated resulting in the need to increase landfill sites and disposal of waste.

The current method being adopted in most countries is disposal through Incineration / Combustion resulting to increase in Carbon Di-oxide emissions, Dioxins and Heavy Metals. This has resulted in countries trying to adopt alternative ways of dealing with this problem. Incineration produces green house gases and the end product is a residual ash that requires further disposal and is very harmful to the environment.

Globally, countries have taken steps in correcting some of the issues by:
Separating garbage by category
Disposal of each category by appropriate methods
Developing new Landfill sites
Installing filters to remove harmful substances
Finally incinerating

Since the EE21 doesn’t use the principle of burning, therefore it doesn’t have a chimney. Due to the absence of combustion, this system doesn’t emit any Carbon Di-oxide, Dioxins or Particulates. This system doesn’t leave any residue; therefore there is no need for secondary processing.

For example, when a metric ton of plastic is recycled using the conventional incineration method, we get approximately 2640 kg of CO2 emissions and when recycled through EE21, emission are reduced to almost 99.99% (0.36 kg of CO2).

The principle method for recycling of EE21 is to add Nitrogen to the waste kept in a sealed container to removes the Oxygen. Heat is increased to extract moisture, chlorine and other high-molecular gases. Waste is pyrolyized at 450 degree C to get Highly Pure Organic Carbon. If plastics are pyrolysed through the EE21, the result is Heavy Oils. These new resources can be used for improving the quality of Soil and Water and the Heavy Oils can be used as an alternative energy source. The extracted oils for example, can be used to power the generators that supply power to the recycling system.

Another added advantage of EE21 is that the system is compact and can be customized as per requirements, therefore saving space.
